(KNSI) – Raising Cane’s is lending a paw to the Tri-County Humane Society until close of business on Tuesday. 15 percent of all food and beverage orders will be donated by the restaurant to the local organization. Manager Erica Desjardins says she has personal experience with the shelter and the good work they do.
“I adopted both of my cats from there, Boots and Nova. They are older, so I was worried that they wouldn’t be able to find a home, so I gave them a home. They were actually found in subfreezing temperatures two winters ago. The female cat was wrapped around her kitten, and she had frostbite on her tail and on her ears,” Desjardins says.
Raising Cane’s is a rapidly growing fast food restaurant specializing in chicken fingers. Chief Executive Officer Todd Graves founded the chain in Louisiana. It expanded to St. Cloud recently, opening on Division Street in October 2021. For those who want to help out the Tri-County Humane Society but may have never ordered from Raising Cane’s, Desjardins has a recommendation.
“Caniac Combo, no slaw, extra toast, of course! That’s how Todd Graves orders it, that’s how we like it too.”
In addition to food, you can purchase a plush figure of Cane, the restaurant’s official mascot. Cane is a golden lab owned by Graves and the inspiration for the restaurant’s name.
