(KNSI) – No one was hurt, but several small fires started in the backyards of homes after a power pole fire Friday night.
At about 8:45, the St. Cloud Fire Department responded to the 3300 block of 14th Street North for a power pole on fire. They found a fire burning at the top of the pole. Firefighters isolated the area and called Xcel Energy. While they were waiting for them to respond, the line came down and started several small grass fires in the backyards of the homes.
Once Xcel secured the power, the fire on the pole was put out with a fire extinguisher. Firefighters checked the yards and put out any hot spots.
The power was out while the fire was put out, and the lines were repaired.
