(KNSI) – A new mobile clinic for Blue Plus Medicaid patients rolls into operation next month. Staff will be making house calls Friday through Sunday each week, starting May 6th. A ribbon cutting is slated for May 5th at the Blue Plus Saint Cloud office near Wal-Mart.

Dr. Robert Larbi-Odam says the service is meant for those who slip through the cracks. “It’s called gaps in service. So, these are people, or Blue Plus patients, who for one or two reasons are not able to make it over to see a doctor on a regular basis.”

A release lists the offerings provided by the mobile clinic.

  •  General health assessment
  •  Weight, height, vital signs
  •  Screenings for vision, hearing, and blood lead level
  •  Childhood asthma management
  •  Vaccinations and immunizations

– Pregnancy testing

– Pap smears and other routine screenings

– Diabetes testing and management, including and foot care

Dr. Odam says diabetes testing and management, annual screenings, and child wellness checks will be the most popular offerings provided.
