(KNSI) — St. Cloud Police say a teenager was killed, and several others were injured in a crash Tuesday night.

According to a press release, officers were called to a two-vehicle crash in the 3000 block of County Road 74 about 9:20. Investigators say a 17-year-old from St. Cloud was driving south on County Road 74 with a 16-year-old passenger when it collided with a car driven by an 18-year-old, also from St. Cloud, going north on County Road 74. Police say the 16-year-old passenger in that car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The 18-year-old in the other car had a 19-year-old passenger and a 20-year-old passenger. They were both from St. Cloud. All three were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The St. Cloud Fire Department assisted in providing medical attention and had to extricate a passenger from one of the vehicles involved.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with reconstruction.
