(KNSI) – A comedy and music show in St. Cloud is raising money for a local veterans organization. Mandatory Fun is Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Red Carpet Event Center. Jonah Maddox is the event organizer and says everyone in the show is a veteran.
“All performers are military veterans themselves. I’ll be hosting the evening and I’m a retired Army medic. For me, I’ve always been the person to try and make people laugh. It’s hard to be ticked off, it’s hard to be frowning when you’re laughing.”
Maddox says the comedy show helps get information to veterans.
“I saw a lot of gaps in serving the veteran community and I found that these comedy shows is one way to fill those gaps because we’re getting information about resources to these veterans through these shows too. So, it’s filling a lot of holes in the system. I think.”
The show includes performances by Drake Walters, Derek Mayers, Terry Bluez, and Mitch Burrow. Tickets are $16. All producers to benefit Veteran Resource and Enrichment Center (VREC).
