(KNSI) — The City of St. Cloud says there will be two days in January for collecting Christmas trees.

On January 10th and January 24th, residents who want to have their tree collected should attach a clear city yard waste bag or a green bag to the tree. Officials say the bag can be tied to a branch or around the lower trunk and make sure it is visible to collection crews and placed in the usual collection area by 6:00 a.m. on those two days.

The city asks that all decorations and other attachments be removed from the tree as trees containing metal or cement stands will not be collected. Wreaths will also not be collected because they can’t be recycled due to the wire inside the greenery.

Residents with questions can contact the St. Cloud Public Works Department at 320-650-2900.
