UPDATE: 10:10 a.m.  (KNSI)  – The Cold Spring Police Department says they’ve arrested a student suspected of making a threat on social media earlier this week.

Original story:

(KNSI) – There will be extra police presence at a ROCORI school after a social media threat was made. The threat was reported to the district at the end of the school day on Wednesday.

Cold Spring Police Chief Jason Blum says they’re working with the ROCORI School District and the incident remains under investigation. He says there will be a stronger police presence at the school, but there is no proof of an ongoing threat.

Superintendent Brad Kelvington says a ROCORI Middle School student had warned students on Snapchat to not come to school on Friday. Kelvington says the student has been identified and is the subject of a law enforcement investigation and disciplinary action.

This is the second threat made towards a Central Minnesota school this week. On Monday, classes were canceled after a 14-year-old Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School student posted a threat on social media.
