(KNSI) – A St. Cloud area lawmaker will be holding a town hall meeting later this month to talk about voting rights and democracy.

Representative Dan Wolgamott will be joined by Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon and members of the community for the “Defending Democracy Town Hall.”

“The deadly January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol wasn’t the end of conservatives’ efforts to destroy our democracy for their political gain,” said Rep. Wolgamott. “Elected Republicans in Minnesota are doubling down on Donald Trump’s baseless lie that the election was stolen to undermine Minnesota’s nationally respected election system. I won’t stand for it. I’m holding this Town Hall with Secretary of State Steve Simon to discuss ways we can combat voter suppression and defend your right to vote.”

Since the 2020 election, more than a dozen states have enacted voting laws. As of today, over 400 voter-related bills have been introduced in 49 states.

The town hall will be on September 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Lions Park in, 4310 Dublin Drive, St. Cloud MN 56301.
