(KNSI) – St. Cloud will hold its traditional 911 Service on Saturday morning. The ceremony will take place at 7:45 a.m. between the St. Cloud Police Department and St. Cloud Fire Station One. Mayor Dave Kleis says the goal of the attackers wasn’t realized that day.
“20 years ago, terrorists attack this nation. Their intent was to take this nation to its knees, but instead the nation rose together and came together.”
He says the service will honor those who died that day and those who’ve been getting killed ever since.
“As we honor those heroes not only those who lost their life but those who have lost their lives in the Global War on Terrorism, and we honor those who wear our uniform, the uniform of our police officers or fire or EMTs, but also the uniform of our nation.”
Three Minnesotans died in the attacks.
