Almost 31,000 COVID tests were processed in the state Wednesday, and roughly 6 percent of those tests came back positive.
Ten of the 11 newly reported COVID deaths in Minnesota occurred this month, with one death backdated to April 2021. None were St. Cloud area residents.
Hospitalizations continue to increase, now with 584 Minnesotans being treated for COVID-19 in hospitals across the state.
Meanwhile, the state is closing in on having 3.3 million residents vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose. Minnesota healthcare providers have now administered more shots this month than in July, which was the state’s slowest month for vaccinations.
