(KNSI) – Two women from Central Minnesota are in the running for Midwest Dairy Association’s 68th Princess Kay of the Milky Way title.
The ten contestants were selected after two days of judging and leadership training. Among the finalists are 19-year-old Meeker County Dairy Princess Anna Euerle of Litchfield and 20-year-old Stearns County Dairy Princess Jessica Ohmann of Albany.
If Euerle gets the crown, she’d be the first Princess Kay from Meeker County. Only one woman from Stearns County has held the title: Christine Reitsma of Sauk Centre in 2012.
For the next year, the new Princess Kay of the Milky Way will serve as a representative of Minnesota’s dairy industry. The princess, who’s chosen the night before the gates open for the Minnesota State Fair, infamously gets her likeness carved in butter and put on display during the fair.
The public can witness the crowning of the 68th Princess Kay of the Milky Way at 8:00 p.m. at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. It will also be live streamed via the Princess Kay Facebook page. Watch by clicking here.
