(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health reports 1,673 new cases of COVID-19 and seven deaths statewide on Monday. The newly reported deaths include two Sherburne County residents, one who was in their late 60s and another who was in their 70s.
Across the five-county St. Cloud area, there are 137 new cases: 11 in Benton, eight in Morrison, 32 in Sherburne, 44 in Stearns and 42 in Wright.
The state processed 35,409 COVID tests on Friday, with 4.7 percent of those tests returning positive results.
Hospitalizations due to COVID continue to increase, with 514 people now hospitalized across the state with COVID. Roughly a quarter of those patients (138) are receiving intensive care.
Meanwhile, vaccinations continue to rise. Minnesota is closing in on having 70 percent of its population 12-and-older vaccinated against COVID. Per the latest data from Thursday, 69.6 percent of eligible Minnesotans have gotten at least one shot.
