(KNSI) – Officials are assessing damage after at least one reported tornado touchdown in western Stearns County.
The National Weather Service says a tornado was spotted eight miles southeast of Brooten around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. A short time later, storm spotters reported a funnel cloud about a half-mile north of Belgrade. Radar also indicated a tornado near Elrosa.
Witnesses say large trees were ripped down from the wind in Belgrade. See a video of the brief tornado from storm chaser Michael Marz by clicking here.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is out at the scene. We will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
