(KNSI) – The city of Sauk Rapids is asking residents to conserve water by only watering lawns once or twice per week as drought impacts the entire state.
Irrigating lawns is prohibited from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day in Sauk Rapids, and residents must abide by the odd/even sprinkling schedule in the city.
Sauk Rapids is also asking residents to conserve water inside their homes, too, by only running appliances like washing machines and dishwashers when they are full and fixing running toilets.
Sauk Rapids’ full outdoor and indoor water conservation guidance can be found on the city’s website.
This comes as the city of St. Cloud recently put out similar guidance for citizens amid low water levels on the Mississippi River. Additionally, Waite Park is issuing a citywide water ban starting at midnight Wednesday.
