(KNSI) – The Paramount Theatre is celebrating 100 years in 2021, and as a thank you is giving St. Cloud a gift.
The Paramount Center for the Arts has commissioned a sculpture, and it will be unveiled on Thursday at 8 p.m.
The work has been installed on the sidewalk outside the theatre.
Guests are invited to gather on the sidewalk in front of the Paramount’s marquee entrance.
The sculpture can be described as an architectural steel form, fitted with facets of stained glass, and lit from inside.
The piece of art was made by Karl Unnasch, Sam Spiczka and Mary Bruno.
Officials hope the sculpture becomes a landmark for visitors to capture their experience at the historic Paramount Theatre visually.
This project has been made possible in part through a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board.
Throughout 2021, the Paramount Center for the Arts will celebrate the 100th anniversary of St. Cloud’s Paramount Theatre.
