(KNSI) – A 28-year-old man drowned in a Central Minnesota lake on the Fourth of July.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s office says the man was fishing off a dock on North Long Lake near Harwick around 8 p.m. Sunday when he went into the water to get a bobber.
While trying to get the bobber, the man began to struggle and went underwater.
Deputies say he wasn’t wearing a lifejacket.
Multiple agencies began to search the water for the man.
He was found in the lake, and first responders began lifesaving efforts.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name will be released after the family is notified.
