(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health reports only 456 new cases of COVID-19 in the state between Monday and Friday. That number includes 26 new cases and no new deaths from COVID in the five-county St. Cloud area.
There were 23 newly reported deaths in other areas of the state.
The five-county area (Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns and Wright) did not see any new cases of COVID confirmed on Tuesday.
Minnesota’s test positivity rate continues to stay low as well; out of the 50,526 tests processed in the past week, only 0.9 percent of them came back positive.
As for vaccinations, Gov. Tim Walz announced Thursday that the state had reached 70 percent vaccination among Minnesotans 18 and older. 91 percent of Minnesotans 65 and older have received at least one dose, as have 71 percent of people between the ages of 50 and 64.
