(KNSI) – A drug and gang task force arrested five people for possession of fentanyl pills in Central Minnesota after multiple reports of people overdosing.

According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was executed at home in Willmar last week, and agents found blue pressed pills being sold by multiple sources in the Willmar area. Police say they took 67 pills.

The pills are marked with M30, the marking for Oxycodone, but contain fentanyl. A 22-year-old man was arrested.

According to the sheriff’s office, fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin.

Earlier this week, the task force searched a second home in Willmar and seized 52 fentanyl pills and 17 suspected ecstasy pills.

Police arrested four people and removed eight children.

The task force says the investigation into the drug ring continues.
