(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Regional Human Rights Committee and the St. Cloud Police Department are hosting their annual joint meeting regarding the St. Cloud Community Policing Agreement next month.

During 2004 and 2005, the St. Cloud Police Department and a number of other community organizations met several times to address community policing. The groups looked at issues including race relations and citizen and police relations based on the results of a state-sponsored Racial Profiling Report on the St. Cloud Police Department.

The agreement scrutinized fair and impartial policing such as accountability of police personnel, hiring and recruitment practices, an ongoing collection of data on biased policing, police training, consent search advisory, how complaints are handled, and the use of advocates to stand in for victims or those who may be uncomfortable approaching the police department.

The meeting is set for July 15th at 6:00 p.m. at the St. Cloud Police Department. The police department is located at 101 11th Avenue North. The meeting will be held in the training rooms on the first floor off the lobby area.
