(KNSI) – One major road construction project is set to start on Monday, just as another sees more changes to its setup.

Starting on Monday, June 28th, Stearns County Road 136 is closing down from 22nd Street South to 33rd Street South. According to a press release from the City of St. Cloud, the work consists of “bituminous street, curb and gutter, sidewalk, utility work, installation of infiltration systems, storm water pond and street lighting work on County Road 136 from 22nd Street South to approximately 1200 feet south of the Oak Hill Elementary School building.”

The project will widen the existing roadway to allow for 10-foot shoulders and bike lanes from 1,200 feet south of the school building to 33rd Street South.

Also, starting on Monday, June 28th, traffic on 6th Avenue North and South in Waite Park will have restricted access to County Road 75 (Division Street).

Drivers going southbound on 6th Avenue North will be detoured via 3rd Street North and 10th Avenue North. Drivers traveling northbound on 6th Avenue South will not be allowed to cross Division Street but can turn right to go east.

Eastbound and Westbound traffic on Division Street will continue to be reduced to one lane.
