(KNSI) – Minnesota reports 1,088 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths from the disease Tuesday. The death count includes one person from Sherburne County and one person from Wright County who were both in their 60s.
Across the five-county St. Cloud area, 129 people tested positive for COVID in the past day: Benton County 14, Morrison County 12, Sherburne County 33, Stearns County 31 and Wright County 39.
Out of a lower-than-normal test volume of 13,658 COVID tests processed Monday, 8 percent came back positive. More than 600 Minnesotans are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 complications.
Meanwhile, 44.4 percent of all Minnesotans have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Nearly one-third of the state is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with either two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna shots or the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, which will now be distributed again in the state after the FDA reviewed rare side effects involving blood clots.
