UPDATE 11:15 p.m. —(KNSI) – The St. Cloud State University Huskies will play the University of Massachusetts for the NCAA Championship.
SCSU improves to 20-10-0 and advances to the Frozen Four final for the first time in program history.
The Huskies beat Minnesota State 5 to 4 on Thursday evening in a tight back and forth game.
UMass beat two-time defending champion Minnesota Duluth 3-2 in Overtime.
It’s the second time UMass has been to the NCAA finals. Their last appearance was in 2019 when they lost to Minnesota Duluth.
SCSU will play UMass on Saturday at 7 pm. The game will be on ESPN.
It will be the first NCAA Championship for either team.
