(KNSI) – A detached garage near Cold Spring became engulfed in fire and destroyed early Wednesday morning.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says a passerby reported the fire just after 2 a.m. in the 17500-block of County Road 83 in Wakefield Township, about a mile west of Cold Spring.
The passerby alerted the homeowner, 69-year-old Patricia Stalboerger, of the fire and she was able to evacuate the residence.
The garage was about 20 feet from the main house. The cause of the fire is unknown.
