(KNSI) – A St. Cloud Easter tradition is back after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
The 45th annual 104.7 KCLD Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Waite Park Babe Ruth Baseball Complex in River’s Edge Park.
KCLD’s JJ Holiday says because of COVID concerns, the event will be drive-thru only.
“This year obviously still a situation, and we wanted to make sure we could do something for the kids and have it be safe. So, we came up with a drive-thru situation. And we’re gonna be able to do it without any risk to anybody.”
He says they still wanted to hold the event to do their part to bring a little normalcy to the St. Cloud area.
“We can’t get more people vaccines; we can’t get people less sick. But what we can do is put smiles on faces, and as a parent myself, if my kids are happy, I’m happy.”
The first 1,000 kids will get a bag full of easter eggs, candy, and prizes.
Parents will have a chance to text in to win a $500 Coborn’s gift card.
Vehicles will want to take Veterans Drive and head south down 54th Avenue North to enter the drive-thru egg hunt.
Last year was the first time in the Easter Egg hunt’s history the event was canceled.
104.7 KCLD is a sister station of KNSI news, and Leighton Broadcasting owns both stations.
