(KNSI) – A good samaritan stopped a semi that was going the wrong way down a busy St. Cloud road after the driver suffered a medical emergency and lost consciousness.
Police say the semi was headed northbound in the southbound lane of 9th Avenue North, near St. Cloud Technical and Community College, at 11:41 on Thursday morning.
The semi was driving at a very slow idling speed. A passerby from another vehicle got into the truck’s cab, steered the semi into the curb, and avoided hitting any vehicles.
Officers arrived on the scene and gave immediate medical attention to the driver of the semi.
The driver, a 65-year-old man, was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance. His condition is unknown.
No vehicles were struck, and no one was injured in this incident.
The semi only damaged a couple of street signs.
