(KNSI) – Two people are dead, and two police officers are hurt after an officer-involved shooting in Wadena County.
Police say just after 8:45 Saturday night; a Wadena County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop in North Germany Township outside of Sebeka. A struggle ensued between the deputy and the driver. A short time later, another driver pulled up, as did a Sebeka police officer, and the struggle continued.
Police say one of the drivers began shooting at the officers, and one of them returned fire. All four on scene were shot. One of the officers was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The other officer was hit in the vest and did not require any medical treatment.
One of the drivers died at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital in Wadena, where they died.
