(KNSI) – Minnesota confirms 851 new cases of COVID-19 and 18 newly reported deaths from the disease Wednesday. The death count includes one person from Wright County in their 90s.
The St. Cloud area adds 54 new cases, and for the first time in several weeks, Morrison County reports no new cases today. Benton County sees eight cases, Sherburne County 12, Stearns County 15 and Wright County 19. There are currently 639 people across the five-county area who are in isolation for a positive COVID-19 test result.
For Wednesday’s new cases, Minnesota processed 20,899 tests Tuesday, and 4.1 percent came back positive.
Statewide, 477 people are hospitalized for COVID-19, with 97 of those patients receiving intensive care.
With data from the Minnesota Department of Health as current as of Monday, 301,290 Minnesotans have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Also, 73,304 people have gotten two shots to complete the vaccine series. In the week of January 17th through the 23rd, 114,919 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered throughout the state.
