(KNSI) – CentraCare is updating its visitor policy amid the state’s decrease in new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.

Starting Thursday, patients at CentraCare and Carris Health hospitals, clinics and specialty centers will be allowed to have one adult visitor. Minors can have two adult visitors with them.

“As COVID-19 case numbers within CentraCare and Carris Health facilities remain manageable, we are cautiously optimistic these new guidelines will offer patients a balance of safety and family support while receiving care,” a press release from CentraCare reads.

CentraCare says visitors should still wear face masks and not have any COVID-19 symptoms.

The healthcare group tightened its visitor policies late last year in response to the state’s surge in new coronavirus cases.
