Truck Catches Fire on Pearl Lake

(KNSI) – The Kimball Fire Department responded to a truck fire 200 yards off of Pearl Lake’s east shore Wednesday evening.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says it received multiple calls regarding a truck and fish house that were ablaze on the lake in Maine Prairie Township just before 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office says the truck’s owner, a 60-year-old man from Kimball, said the fish house had gotten stuck in the ice. As he was attempting to free it, he noticed a small fire under the engine of his truck. After attempting to extinguish the fire with snow, he left to get a fire extinguisher. The owner came back to see the truck fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was extinguished by the Kimball Fire Department, and no one was injured.
