(KNSI) – ROCORI School District is one of 17 grant recipients from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry’s Youth Skills Training program this year.

It provides students with job training targeted specifically for high-demand, high-growth fields. The grants total $1.5 million and will be split among the districts and high schools chosen. The funding will be used between July 1st of this year and June 30, 2026.

Sectors eligible for the awards are advanced manufacturing, agriculture, automotive, health care, and information technology. The funds can be used to recruit students or inform employers about opportunities for them to mentor the next generation of employees, transport students to the job site, or help pay for students to receive industry certifications.

Another round of grant applications will be available later this year.
