(KNSI) – From central Minnesota to abroad, there’s a variety of musical styles scheduled for the stage at the Paramount Center for the Arts in St. Cloud in February.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Barricade Boys. What an eclectic mix they have in their repertoire. Everything from the heartbreak of Les Misérables to oldie staples like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and Motown.

You’ll be standing for something and stomping your feet to 90’s country superstar Aaron Tippin on the 16th. He topped the charts with hits like “Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly” and “Working Man’s Ph.D”.

The next generation will compete on Sunday, February 25th, to be named the next Central Minnesota Idol. High school ensembles will raise money for the Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota.

A storm is brewing to start the month. From the 2nd through the 11th, the GREAT Theatre will put on its version of The Lightning Thief. It’s the only play scheduled for the month.

Based on a 2005 fiction novel, it was made into a movie in 2010 and is now a musical. Percy Jackson thinks he is just a normal teenager but soon learns of a much grander heritage. He becomes caught in a war between the Greek gods, and the only way to keep it from affecting his friends is to find Zeus’ lightning bolt.

The play features original rock music that hits like a flash of brilliance. Will Percy and his friends be able to prove that he didn’t steal the lightning bolt?
