Tech Looks Impressive In First Round Win

(KNSI) - It was all Tech Tuesday night at Husky Stadium against Monticello as they cruised to a 62-6 first round section playoffs win.
Tech got 9 touchdowns from 6 different players and looked like they'll be a tough team to beat when they travel to Rogers Saturday for a second round matchup.
"You know they're somewhat like us I guess a little bit more than a power team, don't know a whole lot about them, you know I haven't played them, we'll get going on film now and take a look and get ready for Saturday," Coach Greg Martig said.
University of Minnesota commit Brevyn Spann-Ford led Tech's high powered offensive attack with 3 touchdown catches on the night.
He now has 10 touchdowns in the last 3 games.
James Kazcor had a two rushing touchdowns, one coming on a 44 yard punt return behind some textbook blocking by the punt return team.
Trent Meyer also brought in a nifty touchdown grab in the corner of the end zone.
"Having all of our weapons back, being able to move into multiple formations which we did tonight, and I don't think they prepared for that since it hasn't been on film, so I think that worked out for us," Coach Martig said.
Tech's defense was again stingy, only giving up one touchdown and forcing two turnovers and falling on a fumbled snap near their goal line.
When the brackets were released the Minnesota State High School League made an error in scheduling and originally said it was a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Rogers.
Coach Martig says the game is at 2:00 p.m., our coverage of the Tigers' second round playoff game starts at 1:45 p.m. on KNSI.
