(KNSI) – When spotlighting local athletes, it would be hard to miss this week’s senior that accomplished what every athlete hopes to achieve during their high school career.

When receiving her gold medal, Olivia Motter did what she set out to do in her fifth attempt at the Minnesota State High School League Diving Championships.

Motter talked about the hard work that went into finally being able to be called “State Champion” when she joined the Saturday Sports Special crew.

Along with a state championship, Motter finished with an undefeated senior season.

Her list of accolades is impressive, including a third-place finish at state her sophomore season, two section championships and two conference championships.

The future University of North Dakota student now holds Rocori High School’s record and also holds the record at two other pools; she was also named to the All-Metro Team three times.

Although Motter will not be diving for the Hawks, her fire, passion and desire to be the best at everything she does will bring her far in college and in life.

Many of our local athletes like Olivia have shown us what it takes to be better people by sharing their love for what they do on a daily basis and for that, Leighton Broadcasting and KNSI thanks them.
