(KNSI) - The Sartell Sabres' Volleyball squad continued their hot-streak to start the season by winning the North Branch Invitational and bringing their record to 9-0 on the season.

During their path to the championship, the Sabres defeated Esko 25-12 and 25-14 in straight-sets en route to a clash with North Branch.

Prior to the battle, North Branch was ranked number-one overall in Class AA.

North Branch won the first set 25-22 but Sartell stormed back to win the final two sets by the scores of 25-21 and 15-13.

Sartell then faced Carlton in the championship and again they lost the first set by the score of 25-21 after winning the final two sets 25-20 and 15-9.

Continuing her great season, Elizabeth Dille recorded 44 kills, 33 digs and added three ace-serves for the tournament.

Morgan Vossberg totalled 116 set-assists during the tournament to go with her two ace-serves and one block.

In her first action after being named All-Star Trophy Player of the Week, Hope Grasswick tallied 32 digs and three ace-serves.

Paige Mackenthun led all Sabres with four ace-serves and added 22 digs.

Sartell will now host ROCORI on Tuesday, September 17th at 7:00 p.m.; that game can be heard on AM1450 or FM99.3 or right here with the pregame starting at 6:45 p.m.
