(KNSI) - The St. Cloud Icebreakers and Sartell/Sauk Rapids Storm'n Sabres fought to a 3-3 draw under the lights at Lake George Friday night to kick off Hockey Day Minnesota in St. Cloud.

The first period was controlled by the Icebreakers and their defense.

Gabby Rud scored late in the first period to put the Icebreakers up 1-0.

In the second period, Allie Cornelius scored her first goal of the night to put the Icebreakers up 2-0.

A few minutes later, Brooke Walters got the Storm'n Sabres on the board to make it 2-1 going into the second intermission.

The game broke open in the third period starting with a goal from Madison Mollner to tie the game up at 2-2.

Allie Cornelius scored her second goal of the night soon after to give the Icebreakers back their lead.

Anna Orth scored late in the third period for the Storm'n Sabres to tie the game up and send it into overtime.

Overtime was slow and defensive with no scoring.

The game ended in a 3-3 tie.

Allie Cornelius had 2 goals for the Icebreakers, Gabby Rud had 1.

Brooke Walters, Madison Mollner and Anna Orf each had 1 goal for the Storm'n Sabres.

Allie Cornelius was selected as the All Star Trophy and Awards player of the game.
