(KNSI) – The cross-town matchup between two tough teams was much closer than the final score but Cathedral took this one 5-1.

Blake Perbix lit the lamp early and often in the big win for Cathedral.

The score was knotted-up at zero until Perbix scored his ninth goal of the season.

Early in the second period, Perbix then added to the Crusader lead when he scored his 10th goal of the season.

After the end of two, Cathedral held onto the 2-0 lead.

Early on in the third period, Hayden Walters finally got Sartell on the scoreboard with his eighth goal of the season on a pretty goal in front of the net for Sartell as they lessened the gap on Cathedral 2-1.

Moments thereafter, Jacob Hirschfield scored his third goal of the season for Cathedral to stretch their lead back to two goals to make it 3-1.

Nothing seemed impossible for Perbix on this night as he scored his third goal on the power play to equal his 11th goal of the season.

Perbix's hat-trick essentially shut the door on any comeback attempt Sartell had planned and he was named the All-Star Trophy Player of the Game for his efforts.

Cathedral added insult to injury when Nate Martin added his eighth goal of the season to expand the lead to 5-1 late in the third.

With the win, Cathedral moved to a record of 12-1 on the season; Sartell fell to 10-2.
