(KNSI) - It undoubtedly must be tough to get into a golfing groove in Minnesota, however, one Cathedral golfer has shown that hard work can get one through any weather.

Averaging around 93 thus far this spring, Taylor Mathiasen is poised to finish the season strong.

The junior captain also finished fifth in the Granite Ridge Conference.

Although the low scores are great, it's the way Mathiasen conducts herself when she hasn't had her best day that impresses head coach Angela Heisner.

"Even when [Taylor] hasn't scored her best score, she still is supporting her teammates."

Heisner is also impressed with the way Mathiasen puts in the work.

"[Taylor] is a true leader; she is normally one of the first at practice and one of the last to leave."

Mathiasen is yet another three-sport athlete from Cathedral; she plays volleyball and hockey.

Heisner is hoping that the team can be more consistent down the stretch, something that the weather can help with if the sun decides to shine.

"We have kinda been struggling all coming together with lower scores at the same time, but I think we have had more meets then actual practices."

Heisner and the Cathedral Girls Golf Club will hope the consistency comes as the team now looks towards conference and sectional play starting next week.

Congratulations, Taylor and good luck to you and Cathedral Crusader Girls Golf the rest of the season and beyond!
