(KNSI) – If you know a Sauk Rapids resident who always rises to the occasion, now is your chance to get them recognized.
Nominations are now open for the 2025 Sauk Rapids Citizen of the Year Award. Any resident 18 or older who has served the Sauk Rapids community is eligible for their past and present work. Nominees may participate in faith-based or civic organizations, boards or commissions, community groups, or business activities. Candidates can also be leaders in human service work or work diligently behind the scenes.
Nomination brochures can be picked up at the Sauk Rapids Government Center or downloaded here. They will be accepted until April 14th.
The award will be presented at the April 28th city council meeting.
In 2024, longtime Sauk Rapids resident David Rixe was named the city’s Citizen of the Year. He was nominated by former councilman and newly elected mayor Jason Ellering for his 30-year track record on various government commissions and other volunteer groups.
