(KNSI) - A local animal shelter is holding their annual benefit virtually this year.

Tri-County Humane Society’s Wine, Kibbles, and Bids benefit, which is typically held in person with a meal, drinks and a silent auction, is online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting June 12th, bids can be made on over 100 items at TCHS’s auction site.

In place of entertainment and speeches, will be a telethon-style event held via Facebook Live on Thursday the 18th.

Special Events Coordinator Angela Mundis says, “think Jerry Lewis. We will have some local celebrities taking calls for us.”

She adds, “you will see some really fun skits and stuff like that” on the telethon.

The event will be wrapped up on Friday the 19th with another live event which will include a message from TCHS’s executive director, an update on fundraising and a special surprise.

Mundis says of the surprise, “think furry and adorable.”

She says to make sure to get your favorite bottle of wine for the full effect of the event, which included a wine tasting in the past.
