(KNSI) - Tri-County Humane Society will break ground on a new $3.5 million building Thursday, November 7, at 1:30 p.m.
The new structure will be behind the current shelter at 735 8th St NE, St. Cloud. It will be twice the size, providing more space for pets and people while increasing the efficiency of animal care for the 3,000+ animals the humane society cares for each year.

According to a press release from TCHS, they have been around since 1974, and, "They believe in the human-animal bond and exist to support Central Minnesota by practicing and promoting quality adoption services and education programs."
The new building is set to be open next summer.
