(KNSI) - More positive COVID-19 cases have popped up in Stearns County.

Numbers from the Minnesota Department of Health Friday show a total of 1,641 cases countywide.

Other counties in central Minnesota are also seeing an increase.

Benton County is reporting another six cases, bringing the county total there to 117. Morrison County saw two new cases for a total of 23. Sherburne County is reporting eight new cases, bringing its total to 135.

Also in Sherburne County, Nature's Point Assisted Living in St. Cloud is reporting at least one exposure in the building. That does not mean it is a confirmed case of COVID-19, only that someone has been exposed.

Around the state, the MDH says there were a total of 5,917 tests conducted, with there are a reported 14,240 total positive cases, an increase of 808. Three cases have been removed from the total. Cases are removed for many different reasons, including residence in another state, duplication of cases, and false-positive reports.

There are also 20 newly reported deaths for a total of 683. 554 of those patients are in long term care or assisted living facilities. There are also nine probable COVID-19 deaths, meaning that COVID-19 is listed on the death certificate, but a positive test was not documented for that person.

The MDH says there are 1,985 total cases requiring hospitalization, and there are 498 who are still hospitalized, with 200 of them in ICU, which is three fewer than Thursday.

There are also 8,820 patients who are out of isolation.
