(KNSI) - The Minnesota Department of Health's latest COVID-19 report shows another bump in cases for central Minnesota.

Stearns County leads the pack with 42 new cases. The MDH's initial report showed an increase of 43, but they say there are eight cases removed from today's total due to many reasons including residence in another state, duplication of cases, and false-positive reports. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Stearns County is now 1,782, with ten related deaths.

Benton and Morrison County also saw a small increase in cases. Two new cases were reported Tuesday in each county, for a total of 142 and two related deaths in Benton and 29 in Morrison with no related deaths.

Sherburne reported eight new cases for a total of 164 and two related deaths.

Statewide, there were 665 newly reported cases and 17 newly reported deaths bringing to the total to 17,029 cases and 748 deaths. This, after more than 5,200 people were tested.

The state says there are 2,221 total COVID related hospitalizations, with 545 patients still hospitalized and 229 of them in the ICU, which is the same number of ICU patients as of Monday.

There are 11,540 patients who no longer need isolation.
