(KNSI) - Central Minnesota continues to see increases in the number of COVID-19 cases.

The Minnesota Department of Health says that of the 705 newly reported cases, 27 were in Stearns County for a total of 1,740. Elsewhere in central Minnesota, Benton County saw an increase of seven cases, bringing its total to 138. Sherburne County also saw a bump of five cases, for a total of 155. Morrison County saw an increase of two cases for a total of 27. Wright County saw ten new cases for a total of 172.

The statewide total for COVID-19 cases is 16,372, with a total of 731 deaths, an increase of nine from Sunday. That's the lowest increase in deaths since May 4th.

As of today, there are a total of 2,128 patients who have been hospitalized. There are 488 still in the hospital, with 229 of them in the ICU. There are also 10,764 patients who have recovered and are out of isolation.
