State Fair New Foods Revealed

(KNSI) - The Minnesota State Fair is announcing their new foods for the 2019 Great Minnesota Get Together.
At the Sandwich Stop, the Bada Bing Sandwich which is an Italian-inspired warm flatbread sandwich with ham, salami, melted mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, fresh basil and creamy balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
The Farmer’s Union Coop, which did NOT disappoint with their BLT sandwich last year is back with the Blueberry Key Lime Pie. It’s a Blueberry Key lime filling in a graham cracker crust, topped with whipped cream and fresh blueberries.
Perennial favorite Blue Barn has the breakfast potato skin. It’s a Deep-fried potato skin stuffed with scrambled eggs and peppers, topped with blackened beef chislic - a South Dakota bar food staple - and drizzled with Bearnaise sauce.
At RC’s BBQ, they’re introducing the Hot Hen. BBQ chips topped with smoked pulled buffalo chicken, blue cheese fondue, pickled jalapeños, tomatoes, green onions and blue cheese crumbles. They also have the the jammin' brisket grilled cheese which is slow smoked brisket, red onion jam, cheddar and pepper jack cheese with hot bbq sauce.
The Hideaway Speakeasy has a boozy berries and barb trifle, with vanilla pound cake, lemon curd, wine, blueberry compote, rhubarb compote and whipped cream.
At Rainbow Ice Cream is where you can find the halo cone which is cotton candy and blue raspberry soft serve ice cream in a halo of vanilla cotton candy sprinkled with a mix of candy toppings.
Mancini's is introducing the no baloney coney with a pork sausage flavored with pistachios, peppers, and served with muffaletta olive and pepper salad on a bun.
And let's not forget the stick stuff.
MIdtown Global Market favorite Taco Cat has deep fried tacos on a stick. It's two stuffed tacos deep fried and topped with cheese and guac.
There are also some new vendors this year.
One is called Brim and they are introducing the grilled sota sandwich, which is cinnamon nut butter and Minnesota blueberry marmalade. It will be served warm on Irish soda bread.
The state fair gates open at 6 a.m. August 22.
