(KNSI) - With coronavirus now in the United States and 17 other countries, it raises questions of preparedness for a disease outbreak.
St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis says the city and several other agencies practice for things just like this.
"We do do table exercises because in a situation when we had the bird flu or any type of virus that may mutate into something that's even more serious, we look at it from a workforce. OK? Let's say you have a bunch of cops and snowplow operators. All of a sudden, let's say 40 percent of them are down. I mean, how do you do the regular things?"
Kleis says they also work on evacuation techniques for getting residents out and also receiving people from other areas of the state who may be evacuated here.
Two suspected specimens in Minnesota were tested for coronavirus, but both came back negative.
