(KNSI) - Prosecutors say a St. Cloud man attacked two men with a metal baseball bat and threw a chair at one of them.

Police got called to a group home in the 800-block of Pebble Creek Drive in St. Cloud on Monday for an assault.

According to the criminal complaint, 32-year-old Jeffrey James Sandhoffer came out of the home's basement with the bat and hit a man from behind on the left side of his head.

Investigators say Sandhoffer hit another man five times on the back with the bat and then threw a chair at him.

The man hit in the head was taken to St. Cloud Hospital and was expected to need stitches.

The second man had bruises on his back and left shoulder blade.

Sandhoffer told police he "swung a bat" at the first man because he was frustrated with him. He denied hitting anyone else.

Sandhoffer was charged with two counts of 2nd-degree assault with a weapon.

His bond was set at $50,000.
