Pleasantview Elementary School Closed

(KNSI) - The learning model for students at Pleasantview Elementary, the middle school, and the high school in the Sauk Rapids Rice School District will change.
Effective Monday, September 21st, students will be going to distance learning.
According to a post on the Sauk Rapids Rice Facebook page, the change was made, "In consultation with Benton County Public Health, the board of education and district administration has made this decision based on recent information."
In a statement, "District officials feel it is in the best interest of students, staff and the community to close the building to in-person learning for two weeks in order to contain the spread of COVID-19."
- Pleasantview Elementary will move to a Distance Learning Model beginning on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020, through Friday, October 2nd, 2020.
- Pleasantview students will not have school on Monday, September 21st, 2020, and Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020.
- Distance Learning will begin for all students at Pleasantview on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020.
As for students in other schools and grade levels, Sauk Rapids-Rice High School and Middle School will be moving to the Hybrid Learning Model beginning Monday, September 21st, 2020. This change will be in effect through Tuesday, October 13th, 2020, and coincides with the MEA break.
The Learning Model will be re-evaluated on Monday, October 5th, for the week beginning Monday, October 19th.
