(KNSI) - The Waseca Police Officer, who was shot in the line of duty January 6th, continues to improve.
32-year-old Arik Matson was shot in the head while investigating a call of a suspicious person.
According to an update on his GoFundMe page, Matson is still in intensive care, but it says things are moving, "in the right direction." It goes on to say he still has a long road of recovery and therapy in front of him.
The GoFundMe was set up just hours after news of the shooting broke and quickly met its $10,000 goal, which was upped to $20,000 and again, quickly met.
The goal now stands at $250,000, of which $166,000 has been raised.
The money will go to help Matson's wife and children with bills, gas, groceries, and medical expenses for Matson.
