(KNSI) - Over two hundred Minnesota youth will put their STEM skills to the test in the Minnesota 4-H Engineering Design Challenge.

Participants must design and build complicated machines to perform a simple task and will be judged by Deputy Commissioner Jon Eichten of Minnesota IT Services.

Youth competitors range from 3rd grade to 12th grade. The program also connects students to STEM industries and organizations.

The event is on Monday, August 5th at Halenbeck Hall Field House at St. Cloud State University from 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

The day will end with a closing ceremony in which Deputy Commission Eichten will present certificates of recognition for student participants.
