(KNSI) - The man accused of threatening his wife and shooting at police during a standoff in Sauk Centre Sunday has been charged.
27-year-old Ryan Kellen was charged in Stearns County court Tuesday with five counts of first-degree assault and two counts of felony domestic assault.
Police say a woman called 911 Sunday morning to say that her husband had assaulted her and was making threats. She also said there was a 9-year-old inside the home with them.
When police arrived, they say the Sauk Centre man allegedly fired one shot at an armored vehicle carrying SWAT team members. None of the officers were hurt.
The child was released safely around noon.
Negotiations continued until Kellen surrendered around 2:20 p.m. Sunday.
He's being held on $2,000,000 bail. Kellen's next court appearance is set for January 22nd.
